Here's the deal: Common Ground cares about one thing more than anything else, and that is the surprising message of love taught by Jesus Christ. We are a community of flawed individuals that have found hope in that love, and simply want to carry that message to as many people as possible.

Common Ground is led by Cleveland native Paul Kraker. For over 30 years, Paul has helped people from all walks of life discover the surprising love of Jesus Christ and go deeper in their faith. His passion is for Common Ground to be an uncomplicated and welcoming place for all people, especially a place unchurched people love to attend. Paul has been married to Laura for 30 years, and they have 3 children who are awesome.

Common Ground was started in 2021 by a handful of families. We imagined a church that was truly welcoming to everyone, where everyone has a seat at the table regardless of personal history, family background, ethnicity, or gender.

What's the bottom line? Common Ground is committed to creating a church built around love and optimism which begins with the power of belonging: optimism for the future, optimism for a better tomorrow, optimism for development--ultimately, we are optimistic that love wins. As we move forward, we will be known for what we are for-- not what we stand against. Inclusion and belonging, believing and becoming, remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.

Most importantly, wherever you are in life, you are always welcome at Common Ground. There's a place for you. There's no hoops to jump through and no pressure to have it all together because we're all works in progress. We hold to the truth that God loves us as we are, not as we should be-- and He cares too much to leave us there.
